Glitch/Bending Sound is a collaborative, immersive performance grounded in enactivism—a philosophical framework that emphasizes the co-emergence of meaning through dynamic interaction between body, environment, and technology. The core belief is that art is not a fixed object but a living process shaped in real time by relationships—between artists, media, and participants.
The performance blends dance, sound, and visual art through the use of custom interactive technologies. GEP Qara Maki, a gesture-responsive glove developed by Matías Homar, which captures movement and translates it into real-time sound and visual outputs using Pure Data and Touch Designer. These digital responses are not static effects, but evolving, improvised interactions through the performer’s intention.
The project reflects on these three guiding principles:
Shared Humanity: By merging distinct cultural backgrounds and creative practices, the project explores common ground while celebrating difference.
Technology as Enhancer: Instead of adapting to existing tools, the artists develop devices shaped by their specific needs, turning constraints into catalysts for innovation.
Embrace of Improvisation & Error: Mistakes become sites of discovery, offering new ways of engaging with the audience and the artwork.
Through live visuals and immersive sound equipment, the audience members are not passive observers but active participants. They are invited to move, to listen, and to engage with one another, shaping the performance alongside the artists.
