#ECOSOPHY is a project inspired by the concept of ecosophy, born as a response to the ecological crisis in which we currently live, which is the result of an unsustainable relationship between humankind and nature.
This project, by combining music and multimedia, aims to create an atmosphere of reflection in which each person in the audience questions their own relationship and influence on nature, with the ultimate goal of creating a network in which these reflections will be published.
NARRATIVE
The program begins with a reflection on our position when we watch (not look) our environment, unable to perceive its real/full picture (F.Barajas), followed by a piece, that shows a presentation of two contrasting elements in search of stability and which we present metaphorically as a human being – nature (M. Błażewicz). It continues with a metaphorical presentation of some of the consequences of these actions, such as global warming (M. Burtner) or waste pollution (A. Dzięcioł). The purification of the plastic used in the second to last piece will serve as a symbol of the reconciliation of human with nature, emphasized in the homeric poem presented in the last piece (F. Rzewski).
IMPLEMENTATION
The first contact with the project will take the form of a concert. We will perform 5 pieces (chosen according to the treated theme) organizing them around 3 chapters. The order of pieces and chapters is made in a way that creates an specific narrative. Between each chapter, the reflections of anonymous people of different profiles about the certain environmental issues raised, as well as on their personal relationship with nature will be video-displayed.
At the end of the concert, the audience will be invited to share their own reflections either by offering to be interviewed in a small prepared space, by sending us (for sharing it on Instagram) a recording expressing the reflection (personal relationship with nature and small daily actions) or or by sharing them on social media along with the #ecosophy hashtag.
