MODO LIBRE is a collaborative musical project founded around the year 2019 in Santa Clara, Cuba. It was created by Jonás E. Pérez Rodríguez and Yasel E. Giralt Barrios as a group to experiment with traditional Cuban rhythms and others from various origins. Artistic exchange is the defining feature of the project, which is why its format and the musicians involved may vary. The project is currently based in Valencia, Spain, where it continues to perform actively and collaborate with local artists.
The musical work we present here is a selection of original pieces and arrangements created by the project. The musical styles explored include Cuban and Latin American music, jazz, and singer-songwriter genres, among others.
